We got our truck!
The thing is a freaking monster!! The captain chairs in back swivel and recline so the boys are in heaven lol. Needless to say when we drive to AL no one will be riding with me in the other truck we have to take back to my MIL. Oh well, I will blast the radio and have some peace and quiet without the kids lol.

Now time to get the house in order. Less then 3 weeks left!! I may lose my mind.

Tragedy at grandma's house
My grandma lives with my parents. When they moved here to AZ in 2007 they brought both my grandmas with them. They both kept their houses in Michigan as that was their last line of independence (in their minds).
Well my 95 yr old grandma is still capable of going back to MI in the summers since she loves it there and the summers here are just too hot for her. She lives next door to my aunt and uncle so she isn't "alone". She went back last summer and did a bunch of work to her house. Her house is a 3 bedroom modular on some very nice land that has been in her family forever.
This winter tragedy struck. Usually my aunt is there to check on the house. However they go out of town for the winters also and only occasionally come back home to check on things. That is when it happened. Something caused the furnace to go out which resulted in the pipes bursting in my grandma's house. By the time my aunt got back into town it was too late. The entire house had water on the floor and mold EVERYWHERE!!
They called the appropriate people and the house is a total loss. It has to be demolished!!! There is mold in every crack, crevice, wall, and ceiling. Every item in the house has mold on it, in it, clothes, furniture, beds, tables, you name it. My grandma is totally devastated as you can well imagine. Luckily she got out a bunch of things last summer when she was there. Like the big quilts she has made over the years and some of her best chinaware.
There are even mushrooms growing in the house! It is so sad.

I give up!
No seriously!! I expected this, deep down I knew it was going to happen so I don't know why it shocks me at all. Maybe I just didn't expect it to happen so soon.
Guess what folks, dh called this morning from work. He tells me there is massive layoffs going down and doesn't expect to be at the job he is on past Friday.
What does he tell me?? Pack your bags baby, your headed back to Arizona!! ( I am paraphrasing here). He means like NOW. Today or tomorrow!!
What does all this mean?? Well for one the kids won't be starting school here on Monday. They will be starting school at their old school district that has already been in session since August 4th. We will have to live with my sister and her boyfriend in their (MY former) house that we had them take over the rent on and sign a new lease in their name.
I again will have to take back Alex's school clothes (see previous post) since they don't wear uniforms at his old school.
Did we (my entire family) not tell dh this would happen?? Oh, yes we did!!
I am in shock and now don't even know where to start or what to do.
HELP!!!

My sister
Today I am going to talk a bit about my sister. Which means she can never see this blog because she hates people talking "about her" so to speak. She is very private and doesn't even share personal stuff with me. My sister is 14yrs younger then me so with the age difference we have never been real "close". We get along ok and sometimes go shopping together.
Anyway I had to move out of my house before my lease was up in order to move to Vegas. She was looking for a rental house in my area so she agreed to rent the house I was in. It worked out for both of us. She took over the lease and signed a new one and we left all our deposits in place so she and her boyfriend wouldn't have to come up with major move in money.
I rented the house from November till first week of July. Maybe it was just the seasons I lived there but I never had any issues with "bugs". We both hate creepy crawly things with a passion. My thought on the subject of bugs is, if I don't see them, then I don't know they are there. I live in bug existence denial lol. Her boyfriend goes out in the yard at night with a flashlight and looks for bugs. Not cause he likes them but I guess he wants to know "what is out there". Then of course he freaks out my sister with his finds.
I killed a few spiders when I lived there but nothing more then any other house I have lived in. Bugs (as much as I despise them) are a fact of life. However it seems since my sister moved in they have been overrun with bugs. Like I said, maybe it is the season.
Last night she called my mom after midnight saying she found a tick and bunches of tiny baby ticks in the bed!! She was freaking out and didn't want to sleep in the bed and such. It is like every week she has some major bug story. What does this have to do with me you ask? Well I lived there and now she does and even though I only rented the house I feel somewhat responsible. Well not really responsible but I feel really bad she is having all these bug issues yet I never had any problems when I lived there. I don't know, maybe she is just a bug magnet. She won't even go out on the patio at night cause she says there are bugs everywhere. I always sat on the patio at night and never had a bug problem. Mind you, I sure as shit never went looking for them either. Out of sight, out of mind for me.
I hope she makes it through the bug season without freaking out and losing her mind. And I need to stop feeling like it is my fault for her having bugs just because I lived there first.

What did happen to my house??
Gee, where do I start?? My dh is a union electrician which means he does contract work. He likes to chase the $$$ and usually that means traveling a lot and not being home. Well we moved to AZ last Oct but dh worked in Vegas. After eight months of us living in separate states dh wanted us to be a family in the same state again so here we are. Dh has a fifth wheel camper and to save money and pay off bills this is where we all are living now. All of us in a place smaller then a tiny studio apt, maybe 100 square feet of living space, if that. I am not sure where it will go from here. Maybe a house, apt, a new fifth wheel? All I know is whatever happens it won't be any time soon.
So that is what happened to my house. Love it or hate it I am here in Vegas and we are a family again.

The beginning
You have reached beginning of my blog. Yes, I too have jumped on the blog bandwagon. I have tried this before but since I don't type real well I never kept up with it. Or maybe I just have a boring life (yeah right!).
About me :) My name is Susan. I have been married to Jeremy since 11/04 and we have 3 boys, Alex, A.J. and Matthew.
My history :) I was born in Japan (my dad was USN) and grew up in Michigan. I spent 7 years in the USAF as a jet engine mechanic. I was stationed in Germany and Tucson, AZ. I have also (in my life) been a restaurant manager, physical therapy tech, a server and a cashier (not in that order).
My dh is from Alabama and works as a union electrician. He is why I am here wondering "what happened to my house??" More on that later. Jeremy, although rough around the edges is a good provider and a great husband (most times).
