My week in review

My week in review

If I just posted everyday I am sure a lot more people would come to look at my blog but as it was this week I just didn't get around to it. So instead here is a long post of "MY WEEK".

Last Sunday A.J. come down with the 24hr stomach flu. That wasn't fun but he was a trooper and by Monday he was much better.

On Tuesday Matthew then came down with the stomach flu, ugggg. Not so much the trooper. He literally freaked out every time he threw up. I can totally understand that but unlike A.J., Matthew makes no attempt to run for the bathroom nor would he keep a bowl by his side "just in case". Luckily most of these things just skip right by me.

NOT this time however. Friday I came down with it!! Not to mention I had a 8am appt at the school for Matthew's Child Find screening (to see about him in preschool due to the fact that he has the same speech issues as A.J.) I managed to pull myself together and got there only to be told the speech therapist called in because she was sick, grrrr. It was not a pretty day for me. But hey, I lost 4 lbs overnight lol. And well then by the next day I had gained 2 of them back, oh well.

Not sure if I ever mentioned I was going to see dh in Texas after Christmas. He found out last week that he was going to have Christmas off so he wanted me to change my tickets for him to come home instead. So I did or so I thought. I had gotten the tickets online through a site (priceline) and called to change them. I even told them that the tickets were now for my dh and explained why etc..... I paid an additional $253 (on top of what I already paid) to change them only to discover they were still in my name and useless to my dh. I called around trying to get it fixed and they forwarded my problem to someone higher up perhaps and said they would get back to me 24 to 48hrs later. Right, still haven't heard from them. So, dh ended up buying ANOTHER flight to come home just in case they wouldn't fix the flight I bought. Because for every day he waited would be closer to when he was coming home and the ticket for him would just be that much more expensive or sold out. How much did we end up paying for all that?? Too freaking much!!!!

Yesterday I did some shopping!! I wasn't 100% after being sick on Friday but I got done what I needed too. I got to go and buy a "hot" outfit for when dh comes home and we go out(maybe I will get a decent pic of me to post) We won't have a lot of time though. He gets in at 10:30pm and we are going to a hotel near the bar/nightclub scene in Scottsdale, AZ so we may get a couple hours of drinking and dancing before things close. Then the next day dh gets to start working on my van and pray he gets it fixed before he leaves. He only has like 3 and a half days to work on it and he needs to fit Christmas in there somewhere.

School shopping gone bad

School shopping gone bad

Friday I did school shopping for my oldest ds. This is never a pleasurable event. He is a boy, he hates shopping and has no option what-so-ever on clothes of any type. As if liking a shirt or pair of pants is a bad thing.

I get him a bunch of shirts, t-shirt type. The stuff kids wear nowadays. However 90% of the t-shirts out there have skulls on them and I wasn't going to buy those. Buying pants for him was a true ordeal since he is too big for boys size and the men size he wears the just don't have. Go out and just try to find a pair of 29X32 guys jeans. If your not there the day the truck comes in just forget about it.

So, today I go to register Alex for school. Well, well, over the summer they decided to go to uniform dress!! Now I am all for uniforms. I think they are great but I just wish they had updated their website BEFORE I went shopping, arrrgh.

I had a limited budget to begin with and since Alex wore shorts all summer he still needed jeans and some shirts for after school and weekends. It was like buying a double wardrobe. I was able to squeeze out 3 pairs of pants and 4 shirts for his uniform attire.

Honestly I think it will be nice to see Alex in a nice pair of pants and a polo shirt everyday. Thankfully they have a semi-lax grooming standard. No purple hair obviously but if Alex had to cut his long curly hair we would need to find a different school.

Of course Alex is less then thrilled about the whole thing but I think he'll live lol.

3 kids, 3 schools

3 kids, 3 schools

Finally all my kids will be in school this year. I now have a preschooler (Matthew), a kindergartner (A.J.) and an 8th grader (Alex). Now I just have to work around Matthew and A.J's schedule. A.J. will most likely ride the bus but he and Matthew have close to the same schedule since Kindergarten is a half day and I need to be there when he gets on and off the bus. It will be hectic in the morning here now being as there is only one very small bathroom in the RV.

Knowing Matthew I can only pray that boy doesn't get kicked out of preschool. He has a lot of learning to do to survive in a group of kids and not get his way.

Now it is time to school shop for three!! Wow, that is going to be expensive. Good thing I don't have three girls, that would really hurt the pocket book lol. Luckily school here doesn't start till the 25th of August so we have some time to get everything done and in order.

So at some point during the mornings, I will have a whole three or so hours to myself. What will I do? What will I do......? Oh that is right, I'll be here on the computer, however shopping sounds good too. Shopping without the kids? Not sure I remember how to do that. Practice time!!!!

Am I a bad mommy for not being sad my kids are growing and becoming more independent and my last one is starting preschool?? I tend to get sad when my kids won't kiss me in public anymore, ow well.
Pedicure virgin

Pedicure virgin

That was me until today.

Last weekend I met a woman that is dating a friend of my dh. The four of us had breakfast together this morning then while the guys did what they needed to do we went shopping. We went to the mall and walked around, she bought us Starbucks and my kids corn dogs.

After the mall I needed to get some things at Walmart and she wanted to get her nails done. I went to get her at the nail salon they have there when I was done shopping and she says that I should get a pedicure. I was like maybe someday, blah, blah. Then she insist I get one and that she would pay for it. I said no and that she didn't need to do that for me. Well she insisted some more and I eventually relented. I don't have people paying my way for many things if ever, except maybe my mom if we are out and I am broke. It was really sweet she wanted to do this though. She also went and bought each of my sons a toy while I was getting my feet done!! That was really nice of her. I have only known her for a week but we are hitting it off good. I have no friends so it is a nice change. She doesn't live around here though. She lives in a town in AZ about three hours away. My dh's friend goes and gets her every weekend and brings her up here to Vegas so they can be together. She hates, hates driving so she won't drive up here herself I guess. It was just a really nice day.

As for the pedicure it was wonderful. I have yucky feet and have always wanted a pedicure but was always too embarrassed to get one LOL. I got my toes painted and all and I rarely ever wear polish on my toes. Hey now my feet look kinda good in my sandals.
More RV shopping

More RV shopping

We found a really nice RV today. It is sweet, bigger and better then the one I posted about earlier this week.

Finally something both dh and I agree on, yay!!! This puppy has everything, and then some. Can't wait to get it!!!

Camper crazy

Camper crazy

That is what we did Wednesday. Dh was let off work at 0630 because of some issues at work so he came home and woke me up, way too early I might add.

We decided to go look at fifth wheels. We shopped for them just like we shop for house, we each have very different preferences. I want something nice, livable and pleasing to the eye. He wants something practical and could care less what the interior looks. I agree we need tons of storage space but I am the SAHM and I am the one that has to sit home all stay and stare at the walls and they had better be a nice color to stare at all day. The furniture better be comfortable and be set in a way that works for me. Our three kids better have plenty of their own space to be.

This is the one we found http://www.bigskyrv.com/rv/index.php?id=N4203 I love the colors and style very much. The pics have a different interior color then the one we want, but anyway.

We figure it will take six months of really pinching pennies to pay down our credit cards to 30% and save up for the down payment and taxes. Of course this means that the fifth wheel will be our house and that is where we will be living for a long time.

Why would I want to live in a fifth wheel?? Good question. Well I will be the first to admit I am a wanderer. As much as I hate to pack up I do like to move. After the age of 20 I have done nothing but move, even if it was just to a different part of the same town. I get bored and need change. Except for family I have no close ties with the outside world like friends, work etc....

Also I have found that the smaller my place is the less junk I can have and the easier it is to CLEAN lol. That alone is a good thing because I hate cleaning with a passion!!!

Maybe I am crazy, I know my family thinks I am. You never know in life if the decisions you make are right or not. Guess we will find out!
