Can you tell a good joke or anecdote?

Can you tell a good joke or anecdote?

I sure can't. Ask the question "what was the last funny or embarrassing thing that happened to you?" and I am at a loss to come up with anything. Not that those things have never happened to me before because they certainly have. But I seem to have a terrible memory for that type of thing. If you engage me in good conversation I have been told I am funny. I do remember walking into the men's restroom at the theater once. Thankfully it was empty at the time.

However never ask me to tell a joke or even repeat one cause that is just pointless. I can't recall jokes at all. I have known people who are a walking joke book. I worked with one of these people. I heard the same jokes over and over day after day but at the end of the day do you think I was able to even come up with one to repeat to someone else? Nope, not even a little. My mind just goes blank when asked to recall such things. I do have a few lame jokes I can recall but they are more one liners then a full story type joke.

So consider yourself lucky if you are blessed with the gift of gab. You will never have to worry that I will talk your ear off with a good joke or two.

Knock, knock, it's the COPS

Knock, knock, it's the COPS

That is how our day started this morning. About 0930 the doorbell rang and I go tell my sister since I was in the bathroom washing my face.

She goes to the door and looks out the peep hole and turns to me as I was now in the kitchen being curious and whispers "it's the cops!!!" I am thinking "oh, shit" who died or got in a wreck etc.... I go to the door and open it. Of course we have 4 very barky dogs yapping away in the kitchen and my two youngest boys trying to see the cops since nothing could be cooler. They ask to see my sister who was at this time behind the front door when I opened it lol.

Sooooooo, this is what ended up happening. My sister's ex boyfriend (who still lives with us) went to work this morning but then left to come home. Since it was so early, and with all our dogs he didn't want to come back into the house and wake everyone up, so he went down the road to the desert, parked and went to sleep in his car. No big deal, not illegal as far as we know. This part I am not clear on but at some point he left to drive back here to the house. Not sure if it was coincidence or he knew the cops were checking things out so that is when he left. Anyway they pull him over. I guess the guns were drawn and he was put in handcuffs and everything. He told them what he was doing there and that he lived just down the road. Of course he couldn't remember the address but said to them " I can see the house from here!!"

I assume they were verifying the story with my sister. The cops didn't have Nick with them when they were here but after they left Nick showed up about 5mins later.

Now I don't mind two hot guys in uniforms ( I am such a sucker for uniforms) showing up in the morning but man don't give us a heart attack in the process, gee.....

My biggest fear is something happening to dh while he is on the road and having the cops show up to give me bad news. YIKES.
