My New Tennis Shoes

My New Tennis Shoes

I was in the market for some new tennis shoes and I found a pair I love! And they look good too. LOL

I need to start walking and well, I have feet issues, like my bunions and all that fun stuff that makes getting comfortable shoes mostly impossible. In addition for the need to exercise, my walks to and from the bus stop for my boys equal about 2 miles a day and my sandals just weren't cutting it. So I was on a quest to find a comfortable and attractive shoe and found the Nike Air Alvord VI women's running shoe. Only after I got them did I look them up and check out the great customer reviews on them. I am very happy with them and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a wonderful pair of exercise/walking/running shoe.

Time to make some changes

Time to make some changes

I am officially fed up with myself. I am fed up with my lack of eating right and working out.  I feel like I have been so lazy this summer (ah yeah, because I have).  I always feel better when I eat healthy and I am active but somehow those reasons are never enough for me to get my butt out there and do it. Nor is the fact that my clothes are getting a bit tighter, uggg.  I am really not being a good wife and mother if I am always feeling down about myself so it is time to get down to business.

Of course getting down to business while living in an RV is not always the easiest thing to do.  I love Pilates and doing the dvds I have.  However there is no room in an RV for such exercises.

Ok I know that whatever I say about exercising is going to sound more like an excuse then a reason for not doing it.  Because seriously there is plenty of other things I could do.  Like walking and biking and they even have a tiny pool here that I could attempt to do laps in.  They also have a small workout room here at the park.  They have some treadmills and a few "at home" types of  exercise machines.  And yes they also have a TV with dvd player so technically I could do my pilates.

So tomorrow I am going to start something, come hell or high water.  I bet even if I didn't exercise but just stopped drinking Pepsi all day and stopped putting sugar in my coffee and drank plenty of water I would lose some weight to start with.

Right now I think anything is better then nothing.  So even if I start off slow at least it is a start in the right direction.  Wish me luck!!

Nintendo Wii Fit

Nintendo Wii Fit

That is what I went and bought yesterday!!! I have to say that I like it. Of course my 14yr old ds wants me to do it with him 24/7 and I have a certain time of day I like to "work out".

You can do yoga, strength training, balance exercises and aerobics. They are all pretty challenging. Either that or I just don't have the adequate balance needed yet lol.

You can jog, walk a tight rope, do step aerobics, do a hoola hoop, ski (to name a few) and then there are some fun balance games. I did a jogging one and worked up a sweat and was tired when I was finished. Dare I say that I know I am out of shape. Perhaps someone more in shape and aerobic then I would have breezed through it.

The game records your weight and give you your BMI (based on your height also). Tells you what your Wii fit age is. Lets you set goals like weight loss at 2 week intervals. Also the minutes you work out are "banked" and as your minutes add up they will unlock more exercises and games to do. It is much more interactive (obviously) then just doing a workout video. And it is fun since it makes your workout more like a game.

So I personally would recommend it and I am glad I got it. Also since alot of the games are done on a small balance board it should hopefully be easy enough to do when we move into our new 5th wheel in a few months.

Think Thin Thursday!! week 2

Think Thin Thursday!! week 2

The Not-So-Blog
Welcome to Think Thin Thursday, hosted by our lovely Bridgette over at "The Not-so-Blog Blog".

Well, this week wasn't all I expected or wanted. I weighed in today at 149.3 which is .1 lbs more then last week. I have been drinking my water but I need to lay off the soda for sure.

I did get in my 4 miles this week though, so yay for that. I did 2 miles on Sunday and 2 miles yesterday.

My goal for this week is to work out for a 1/2 hr no less then 3 times this week. For me that would be doing Pilates or another floor type exercise.

Here is the task for week 2
Tell us one temptation that you were faced with this week. How did you overcome it?
The biggest temptation for me is STARBUCKS!!! I am totally addicted to the Venti Iced Mochas. Not sure I was able to overcome it this last week seeing as I didn't lose any weight, blah!! I am fighting it hard though.

Better luck to me this week!!!

The Not-So-Blog

So this is Think Thin Thursday brought to you by Bridgette at Not-so-Blog Blog

My starting weight today is 149.2 I had to be out the dorr very early so no time to post my pic this week. I will next week though. I would like to lose 2 lbs by next Thursday. And a total of 12-15 lbs total

My goal for this week is:
to walk 4 miles (hope the kids can keep up).

My task for this week is:
"Instead of giving myself reasons why I can't, I give myself reasons why I can." My reasons are to be healthy, less tired and have more energy.
